A disciple is basically a student. As members of Emanuel seek to deepen their discipleship to Jesus, a variety of educational programs are offered.
An African Method Lectionary-base Bible Study:
Hear scripture in a way that you can inwardly digest. Share what touches your life today. Find ways in which you want to respond or change as a result of the scripture you'll read together.
For The Bible Tells Me So:
Each week, view and discuss a new portion of the film "For the Bible Tells Me So." Through the experiences of five very normal, Christian, American families, discover how people of faith handle the realization of having a gay child or family member.
Caring for Aging Parents:
Melody Ryan facilitates a discussion group on dealing with, helping and caring for aging parents. Not a "how to" course, the group will share wisdom, experiences and resources with one another.
Coffee Hour in Luther Hall:
A whole hour to drink coffee... because dialogue, like faith, can happen over coffee!
